I'd know what he's really thinking.
I'm no Dog Whisperer, but, I've got a pretty good idea that it's something along the lines of "I miss my sissy."
I miss her too, bud.
Last night was our first night at home without our little Hanna Nanna, my first night making dinner alone. Literally, every night I would cook she would sit on the kitchen rug next to me. Cooking is lonely now.
Isn't it amazing how much pets can touch and change our lives? I know they aren't my real children, but, I love them so very, very much.
Butchie just isn't the same without his sissy. We aren't a single dog family. That's just not us.
Anyone know of anyone needing a good home for a sheltie, we're your people.

oh dear...i am crying as i read this...it is so heartbreaking to see our own pain reflecting in our pet's eyes...i hope he starts to feel better soon, and i hope you and your family do too.

And I know how you feel. I was a wreck for weeks after my Dorey (sheltie) died. I missed the looks in her eyes most of all. A big hug to you and Butchie!
oh that is so sad. Animals are family members. Period. I know how you feel, I'm sorry.

I lost my dog that i had all throughout college the month I moved home, and there are no words to express the pain that one goes through. Especially other people that do not have animals or not attached to their pets. It is a hard time, and I wish I good said it will get better, but I still find myself calling out for my dog to come inside. My thoughts are with you!

I am sorry. We lost one of our two dogs last summer and it stinks! The second one was still a puppy and he really missed his surrogate dad.
So sorry for you and your family. I hope you find Butchie a pal really soon. Those sad eyes are just heartbreaking.
